TRAIN ACCIDENTS IN INDIA

Accidents are relatively common on India's sprawling rail network, which is one of the worlds largest but lacks modern signaling and communication systems. Most crashes are blamed on poor maintenance and human /driver’s error.A country where there is no human value of life> as long as the politicians/cricketers/film stars/mafias are not affected no one cares about these death figures. We spend millions for very old and diseased infested people with modern technology in hospitals but these innocent and healthy people die every day on Indian roads and railway boogies and tracts> no one cares as long as no politicians are killed.Investigations are carried out and lastly the driver or the sabotage theory is blamed for it.Do you know the Tatanagar -Khadagpur line remains closed for almost 12 hours to allow goods train in stead of express trains due to fear of Maoists or profits we do not know!!Now the PM is in charge of the Railways> what a pity a person who has to take permission from an Italian lady before he can open his mouth is the PM of India!!So much for the largest railway net work and democratic country of the world!!

  1. Having been in existence since 1857, Indian Railways has more than 64,215 kilometers (39,901 mi) of track and 7,083 stations. It has the world's fourth largest railway network after those of the United States, Russia and China. The railways traverse the length and breadth of the country and carry over 30 million passengers and 2.8 million tons of freight daily. It is one of the world's largest commercial or utility employers, with more than 1.6 million employees.
Having stated these facts, I would also like to bring to your notice that in recent times, a majority of train accidents ARE a result of maoist attacks. As for your claim that nobody cares as long as there are no politicians or celebs involved, i would like to ask you that how many celebs or politicians do travel by train?
Also, your consistent claims that the PM needs to ask an "Italian" lady for orders or approval, they seem rather out of context here and misaligned. Although she has spent more years in India than in her apparent home country, Sonia Gandhi is still considered an outsider, a foreigner. How long does she have to stay in this country and how many family members does she have to sacrifice to the cause of this country before you can call her an Indian? How many times does she have to prove herself as a great strategist and a brilliant politician before you can take pride in the fact that we have a great mind at the helm of affairs? I am not propagating a particular political party, instead I am protesting against this mindset of rejecting everyone that does not share the same skin color as us, and then we have the audacity to complain of racism?? If that isnt hypocrisy, then what is?
Coming back to the topic at hand, the Indian Railways have been through a large number of changes at the top and one unlikely champion was identified - Laloo Prasad Yadav, who changed the face of the Indian Railways. It was voters like you that cast their vote to remove him from a position where not just he, but we all benefitted from the changes he introduced into a system as large, far-reaching and prominent as the Indian Railways. So what are you complaining about?
I also object to a line in your post, "We spend millions for very old and diseased infested people with modern technology in hospitals but these innocent and healthy people die every day on Indian roads and railway boogies and tracts". "We" do not spend millions because govt. hospitals do not have the means or even the staff to contribute to saving poor and old people. As for the innocent and healthy people that die on the roads, railway boggies and tracks, I do not intend to play down the tragedy of loss of life, but how many of them actually pay attention to traffic rules? How many of them, inspite of several warnings and cautions, refrain from over crowding a general boggie or sitting on footboards, train roofs or hanging out from the door?
The blame cannot be put solely on the service providers, it is also a responsibility of the users to use the service intelligently and safely. So the next time you're driving and see a pedestrian crossing a road, please remember that traffic rules say that you ought to slow down or come to a complete stop to allow the pedestrian to pass, not zoom around them or honk at them!
