BIRD'S OF PREY----OWL

Some say Laxmi the Goddess of wealth is accompanied by a owl when she rides the elephant. Owls are solitary birds,sleep during day time and catches its prey at night.This bird is associated with bad luck and misfortune.In Oriya we call this white owl as Laxmi pecha or Snowy Owl.Some say she is Alakshmi ,Laxmi's elder twin sister.
Owls can live in many places. Owls can find their home in tree holes,treetrunks,farms,bushes,forests,and in barns.This one was spotted at Bhubaneswar,Patia during day time.Due to house constructions and cutting of trees they are now homeless, that may be the reason or she is injured we do not know.Photograph taken with an Olympus digital camera.
