FUTURE OF INDIA

Disintegration of Indian Republic:
This may be farfetched. But given the trend towards regionalism, it will be interesting to see at what point there will be a constitutional debate in India about realigning state-center relations. Such debates are not uncommon in federal states and can lead to major reforms.
Few decades back one Indian lady when asked to introduce herself in an International Beauty contest said “I am from Mumbai—India”, from then on the seeds have been shown on the Indian subcontinent about regional feeling. There is no national feeling at present. A prime minister has almost negligible numbers of MP's in certain states (see map) of India. Here the point is if the different states have not voted a particular party to power why should they be governed by that party PM? This is a big question mark on Indian democracy. Regional feelings have become stronger and stronger over the years. This weakness is being taken advantage by China and Pakistan. The writer of this article visited Mizoram in 1978 and was surprised to find that the people of that state were not interested in Indian goods .They were proud to say they are Mizos but not Indian.
The subcontinent broke down to India, Pakistan in 1947 and Bangladesh in 1971. Did anyone imagined during 1900 that Bharat will disintegrate?
The recent fight between center and states gives an impression as if certain states of Indian are different from rest of the country. With this logic let’s divide the country in to two parts North and South or BJP rule state’s PM would be Modijee where as non BJP led states will be independent and will be treated as a separate country and have its own constitutions and will not depend of central assistance. Different states would have its new sets of rules. The train service inside Odisha would be known as ORS (Odisha Railway service)—Bengal Railway Service (BRS) ---UP Railway Service and so on. They will maintain their own railway service without depending on IR (Indian Railways). The rail line maintenance and train service will be the responsibility of the state government.
Modijee make in India will be changed to make in Odisha, Make in Punjab, Make in Gujarat and so on. He will be the PM of only that part of India where the states are ruled by BJP.Rest will be left to generate their own revenue and formulate their own rules and regulations to maintain law and order in their states.
The feeling of Indians is a thing of past. The citizens and political parties are more concerned about their states. Modi will be the PM of United States of India. The ‘mahasanghtan’ Party will have their own PM.That means India will have two capitals and two PM one for the states with maximum MPs from a particular party (now its BJP)and others with MP's from regional parties. The Parliament will not have any opposition as they have their own country to rule. Opposition will be the Media and Students selected by the people of that country. There will be no Rajya Sabha, no Governors, and no Vice president post. The Presidential building will have two Presidents staying under the same roof.
Who ever thought that India would have 29 states by 2015? Odissa had 13 districts now there is 30.Similarly UP have disintegrated to three more states, MP,AP and Jharkhand to two more.
People of India are not willing to sing the national anthem, nor are they proud to be Indians. The intelligent brains have gone out of the country saying their country is a country of frauds, country of chaos, a country of dust and mud never to return back.
Of late an ugly head has emerged in India, not to obey the law and order nor the verdicts and directives of Supreme Court of India. With all these the writer thinks the future for India is not bright. Indians want to have their own ways and means to earn money and not obey the central guidelines. Every CM is concerned about its people when a train accidents or any natural tragedy occurs
.No one identifies him or herself as Indian but as a regional person !Most of the CM of non BJP states are not only strongly speaking against but also disrespecting the PM in broad day light.
Pakistan, China and some other countries want that India must disintegrate for their own benefits and vested interests. But why the same logic will not hold true for USA because they are all immigrants from other countries, and not true Americans. There is nothing like USA citizens they are all immigrants from all over the country.
Whether that would be good or bad for the subcontinent time would tell but by that time most of us will not be there to watch the new geographical maps.

SCHOOL TIME

 SCHOOL TIME:
The first batch of school children would leave at 8am from our next door neighbors duplex house. One is 8 yrs and the other 6 years. Their father works at Mumbai in a paint factory and comes once or twice in a year. Mother takes care of the growing children from morning till they go to bed. Very active brothers but naughty. School bags are quite heavy for their tender age hence their mother would carry both the bags to school which is half a kilometers from their house. I was curious to know the weight of each bag but would guess it will be eight kilogram both combined. Evening they go near the Sai temple and play till 5pm when the tuition master comes.
The other side of our house is another group of grown up pampered children escorted by their mothers. They would come one by one without the school bags. Their fathers are absconding from their respective family. Some work at Bhadak, Bhabanipatna, Balasore, Bangalore and others at Jajpur.Exactly at 9am three of the ladies with night gown would come down with the heavy bags and stand near the apartment gate. Ladies would go on gossip mode for half an hour or so when the Econ school bus would come at high speed and come to a screeching halt. The children have not been taught by their ‘maam’—‘madam’—‘school teachers’ to help their mothers. They are all 14 years and above, still then they would enter the bus without the bag like a Governor. Their mother would carry the bag and keep them inside when the driver would zoom out of the colony in tremendous speed. The morning chorus for those ladies would be over for the day. There are no in-laws or husband to look after. Most of them have become obese with more money less heads to feed.
Looking at the education system through our window gives an overall impression about the impact of education on the manners and attitude of the students. Never do they tell their mother not to carry the bag nor do they try to carry them inside the bus. They utter thank you uncle, thank you aunty, bye’’’’’.
Why every child should carry a bottle of water from home? With such huge tuition fees can’t the school authority provide clean drinking water to the children? The water bag culture starts from the age of three when the baby is kicked out of bed to join KG school, so that their mother can go for beauty care and watch TV serials! The toddlers have lost their childhood once they are born. Study—study and school and tuition have reduced their brains to computer’s hard disk. No self created ideas, all copied versions or copy and paste type of education system. Their Vivekananda—Gandhi---or Chanakya are the film stars and celebrities. At the evening hours the idiot box gives a lamination on their education.
Every one follows a system blindly because no one is allowed to have his or her own thought process developed; lastly a Robert is produced and flies off to a distant land to earn dollars. hats the bottom line of the present education system. The uncle—aunty system will continue for how long we do not know.
The school bus would return at 4pm when aunties will receive them at the gate. No games no NCC, its Tuition time once again. Education institutes are most profitable and ever growing industry in India. This is a sort of mental and physical torture for the child? Is it not a child labour?

USELESS RITUALS:

 USELESS RITUALS:
Some of the Odiya Brahmins who are away from India and are unlikely to come back to their mother land, once in a while to show-off their status, come to Odisha to perform the thread ceremony (upanayana) of their sons.
Subrat Babu happens to attend two such functions in recent past which made him very sad and angry. In the first case after a couple of months neither the father nor the son had the scared thread on their body. The other case the grown up boys had already circumcision because they were born in a Muslim country. They eat beef, pork and camel meat.
Ages are specified in Manu-smriti as 8 for Brahmins, 11 for Kshathriyas, 12 for Vaishyas.Ideally the thread ceremony should be over by 8 years. But now a day’s it’s more of a comedy show then a very important rituals of a Hindu family, performed at marriageable age or during marriage. The three stands signifies one for the teacher, second for the parents and ancestors and third one for the sages and Rishis.Bachlorhood Brahmin has three strands, married ones have six strands and senior citizens have nine strands. The other day Subrat babu satirically said now each strand stands for money, mobile and militancy nothing else!
Subrat babu is of the opinion that if someone does not know the basic idea behind a thread ceremony then he or she should not spend so much money and time to show-off that they are Brahmins. On many occasions Subrat babu does not attend the birthday and thread ceremony functions which according to him are type of business rather than a Hindu ritual. This show-off business is killing the society.

SECURITY GIARD

 Security Guard:
Our house which was once upon a time without any neighbours suddenly have  too many of them after the new apartment was occupied by sixteen families. The occupants were mostly ladies and children as the male members come only during week end .Gone are the days when people feel happy to have a doctor as a next door neighbour. Every educated couple have “Google Doctor” at home hence my service was reduced to ‘uncle’, as they call me fondly. I am better known as ‘dog uncle’ in this locality.
Initially there was teething problems in that apartment with water supply, electricity and security. My German Spitz used to watch that house and bark at night spotting strangers and would disturb my sleep. Half a dozen of security personals left because of irregular or inadequate salary problems. Majority of the families in that two bedded apartment are in silent mode  and not concerned with the outside world. Morning the ladies with their night gown would pick flowers from my garden with a hook. My dog Ringo would bark at them still then they continued to steal flowers much to the annoyance of my wife. I developed friendship with some of the ladies who were smart and young, loved my Ringo.
Lastly they found a fraud Brahmin security guard who used to recite ‘Mantras’ at night during his C shift duty. He had a grown up son and daughter who were employed elsewhere, did not like their sixty-five years old father to work as a security guard. His mantras would disturb me and my Fitz but we got adjusted to his whistle and mantra at night. He too left due to non payment of his dues. But faithful Ringo continued to watch the apartment gate at night without any remuneration of any kind.
Now there are two security guards with twelve hours duty for each. At night Ringo and the security person would guard our house and the apartment. Press people, teachers, house wives, retired persons now stay in that apartment. That area where the building has come up was once up on a time a small play ground for children.
Once in a while some of the occupants of that four storied apartment would  give us sweets and fruits. The security guard has become friendly with me for my attitude towards him, a tough job of watching others life and property at night.
There are more than ten thousand male security guards at Bhubaneswar employed in hospitals, ATMs, banks, apartments, hotels and departmental stores. They are available from different registered security organizations. Initially someone tried with lady security guards but it landed up in legal problems, hence stopped. At one time  there were fewer jobs and more unemployed people, where as now there are too many jobs for car drivers, security guards, doctors, nurses for old couples at home, sales girls, teachers and maids but they are unwilling to work. Old retired officers are driving their own cars during day time only. Cars without dents and middle aged people without diabetes are rare every where, Bhubaneswar is no exception. With Ola and Uber coming up in a big way, getting a sincere driver at Bhubaneswar has become more difficult than getting a good bride groom. Many of the senior citizens visit their children in far off places once or twice a year leaving the house in the safe hands of security guards.Gone are the days of government security guards at tresury asking the stranger at night—“friend or foe?”

TIME PASS

ATM Critiques:
HSBC -- the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation -- was the first bank to introduce the ATM concept in India way back in 1987. Now, most of the banks have their ATM outlets in India.ATM stands for automated teller machine, some say-any time money. Before ATM we had manual teller system in certain banks, where one used to get cash in minutes. Now that due to shortage of new currency notes most of the ATMs are closed people are losing their sleep as if their money has been lost. The press people, opposition, cartoonists, politicians, dis-grunted public and some TV channels are making a big issue, as if ATM was the bread and butter of Indians. Before 1987 India was not ruined nor Indian died due to starvation because there was no ATM.The computerization was introduced in the banks after nationalization so also the teller machine system would reduce man power in the banks. With due excuse, most of the bank employees are trade union leaders and their attitude and behavior was different for common man and known customers when foreign banks came to India and they started this magic system of getting money from a machine like a fortune teller parrot. The number of employees remained as before and the service in different nationalized banks deteriorated further. Imagine an application for transfer of my bank account from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar has not reached the concerned Rourkela branch even after eight weeks? People are educated and can draw money through withdrawal slips or cheques then where is the problem? ATM has ruined many people’s life, even few were killed because they did not tell the pin of their ATM to the burgers?I think millions of rupees have been looted by different anti Indian out fits and thieves from ATM.Even our people do not stand in queue nor try to keep the Air conditioned  ATM clean. They spit pan, gitka and throw away the slips inside and outside the machine and keep the ATM door ajar when the leave the ATM. Citizens are so much concerned about swacha abhijan and discipline? When some steps have been taken by government the news papers are bent upon defaming the government with headlines—‘demonetization kills 87 people’!! Did any of our FB friends have such experience?
Even few ex -army man and some ex- administrative officers who were part of the central government and get huge pension money are criticizing the government on demonetization and ATM in FB and Media. We have a tendency to criticize any new policy or new system in India. Whether it’s Congress or BJP or other regional party thrive on criticizing the center from lightening to demonetization deaths. If there is progress the regional party takes the credit but when it fails they say “center is creating problem”. This much for today, I do not want to irritate anti-Modi members further.
