There is no definition of it as it varies from person to person time to time.Some are happy if their bank balance has doubled, others are not happy with it as they want it to grow six times, so its a mental status which gives happiness.Most of the people get happiness with materialist things which are temporary where as mental happiness from soul is difficult to achieve unless you have modified your desires and wants.No animal or birds think of what is going to happen next day, they enjoy their life as it comes.They have a short life and die young with out sufferings.They do not suffer from noncommunicable diseases like human beings in natural environment.We suffer due to our self only not because of others. Do not do a thing which does not give you happiness or you do not enjoy .Change your attitude and desires and you will feel much better every day.Catch people when they are doing good work and appreciate it.Money gives happiness to some but it too brings misery.Some people show off as if they are the happiest person on earth but they are miserable inside.

Had there been an union of birds then the scenario would have been different but unfortunate there is non to the best of my knowledge.The hens,ducks and other animals are killed mercilessly in suspicion because the bird flu may spread to human being.We are a selfish a lot if this be the logic then all human beings suffering from infectious diseases including HIV should also be buried and killed brutally.If the first cases of AIDs were killed in 1981 then the disease would not have spread to this magnitude.Elephants are killed by high voltage electric currant, buffaloes are poised so the people can go to any extent to eliminate birds and animals by any means.The H5N1m may be a common finding with birds but telling that that is responsible for the deaths is not easily digestable by me.We do not know the cause of death of these crows, may be the micro waves,ecological disturbance, poisoned by vested interested party can not be excluded.Lets stop killing these birds and pay money from the Exchequers pocket.Why all these disturbance just before the panchayat election in Odisha??A rape case has taken a head line after two months!! There is some political game involved in these birds killing and increase in rape cases in Odisa.

More than few hundred thousand human beings,thousands of dogs,cats,cattle and other unfortunate animals die due to road accidents&careless driving in India. The mortality and morbidity figures will be much higher if the death certificates are properly filled up by the doctors.The road signs in the national highways are either stolen or illegible.Majority do not know the traffic rules.My suggestion to Government of India is to put all these road signs in the social studies books of schools students.Young and normal people die mostly due to these accidents.They are all preventable deaths.Children in schools should be shown video pictures why accident occurs and how to cross roads.

PREVENTING DIABETES:
This article is meant for people below thirty years of age with out diabetes. With the available literature, Google and media teaching most of you know what a diabetes mellitus is. Blood glucose level more than the normal values in fasting state or after food is known as diabetes mellitus.Keep it around 70mg to 100 to 110mg% of plasma glucose in fasting state(after10hours).Two hours after food <140mg% of plasma glucose.
Gene plays a vital role but that’s only the half of the story, the other half is with in your control so you can prevent or delay it. You have a fixed number of beta cells to produce insulin which is so vital for sugar/glucose control in the body. If you exhaust your insulin reserves early than you have a problem. If you go on eating too much of fat and carbohydrate and become obese than insulin will not be effective.
Yes we are talking about type 2 diabetes. What you can do from now on if you want to lead a good healthy and long life. There are few guidelines which if followed carefully and sincerely, I can tell you will definitely lead a better life than your contemporary.
1: Eat lots of fibrous food2: Eat less3: Forget that dictum breakfast should be that of a prince and dinner of a king.4: Eat like a pauper. 5: Control your desire to eat. 6: Eating all the time like Americans or people of other countries is bad, the system must get rest for six hours between meals.7: Follow a simple formula males:60+1kg per inch of your height above 5 feet, say you are 5 feet 9 inches tall>60Kg+9=69 kg ,females>55kg+1kg per inch, plus minus 2kg allowed. If you keep your weight under control up to the age of fifty years than you increase your life span. For muscular people the waist should not be more than 37 inches and females 35 inches irrespective of the weight.8: Avoid fried and deep fried non vegetarian food.9: Certain Sweets like Indians consume are bad10: Chocolates with out sugar is allowed but not too much as chocolates contain lots of trans fatty acids.11: Say no to potato chips.12: Alcohol and soft drinks should be with in limits.13: Set your mind that “I must eat less” when ever you go out to eat.
If you become fat and develop diabetes then hypertension and heart disease will follow you and you will have a miserable life, then repentance will hunt you for the rest of your life. If you have a bad gene then your kidney failure will set in early and by 40 years or less you will be a sick man or women.

At Bhubaneswar ,India apartment building is a big business.A house in this Temple city costs a lot but people buy house/apartments as an investment.Most of the NRI purchase a plot of land or house as they know with in three years they can get three times the money.The photographs shown here is an apartment at the foundation laying stage, these poor young ladies are doing the hard jobs.People do not get sleep with their AC on,Sleeping pills but you can notice how these ladies are enjoying a siesta on mother earth as a mattress.When i asked them why are you doing such hard jobs meant for males?"
With so much inflation its difficult to run a family, you see".
They live for today.Most of them are under feed, under weight, anemic but were smiling while on work.Must learn a lot from them.They build houses for us but stay in most horrible place called slums.Old years or New years are immaterial for them.

A LONELY LIFE:
That was 24th September of last year was a memorable day as I had the privilege of meeting my class mates of school days and university days. I was informed to be there in that hotel by sharp 12:30pm.
I was the second person to reach the venue.Truely speaking I could not recognize my school mate who was standing under a tree. He called me by name as I got down from my car. We hugged each other, when asked about the other six he told me they are on their way.
Around 1:30pm two more of my medical batch mates arrived whom I could recognize as they were very close to me. Out of seven I could recognize three rest presumed I recognized them.Thrtyfive years is too long a period for my aging brain to remember those faces which have under gone lots of changes. Some had white hairs, few of them were bald and one was too obese for recognition and another was having a Kalidash look with beards and mustache. There was difficulty in coordinating the body frame, face with the names. That would have been avoided had I attended those earlier get together. Any how, things were managed with few lies here and there
I was stunned to know that 42 of our MBBS batch mates are no more, that leaves 118, out of which 22’s where about was not known to any of the eight present on that afternoon. Every one was busy discussing about their grand children, son in laws, and daughter in laws. What I learned from their narration was that they all have gone to USA or Canada to spend some time with their children during delivery time. I was busy with my chilled beer, not fortunate to take part in their discussion as I was still a bachelor. What irritated me most of their discussions were centered on them selves only and nothing else.
One of us was a famous cinematographer at Mumbai who was sitting beside me during the lunch. Actually it was in his honor that this gathering was arranged in haste. I had spent my school and college days preparing cricket pitch and playing together, before we parted for our respective professions. Amongst all of us he has become a national as well as international figure. So the parting time arrived and we promised to meet at least once in a year. That was the most nostalgic afternoon I had ever in my lonely life and believe me they come to me every night in my dreams.

CADAVEROUS OPINION:

Of late lots of ex cricket captains and players are talking B-sit as Geoffrey Boycott says. Some one is not satisfied with team selection, some one with the ground, some on the rules, some on the attitude, and some on weather. Majority is in favour of Indian team and its players, as here lay their livelihood. The so called experts who come for discussion or propaganda of products, one hour before the schedule game time talk like lunatics and there are plenty of such lunatics in India including some senior citizens who have nothing else to do then sit in front of the TV. Some say it will be a high scoring match other will say it will be wise to bat first and all their predictions and calculations are proved wrong by the time the game ends. The TVs, Newspapers, and media are all focused on the Boxing Day but not on more important issues. Some one raising a voice against corruptions is snubbed by the media and the politicians. The rupee value has deteriorated, the shinning India is like artificial gold ornaments but we sleep cricket, dream cricket and eat cricket. As if winning the series in Australia will lower down the petrol price and raise the rupee value.Let’s focus on more important national issue and leave the players to play and the commentators to make cacophony noise.

INDIAN CULTURE:
Last week I happen to meet on Professor of Delhi University while waiting for the Baripada Bhubaneswar super fast express at Balasore Railway platform. As usual I had reached the station earlier. We had discussions on varieties of topics when the soft speaking Prof suddenly got agitated when he noticed people going to the other side of the platform to board the train. The stoppage time was only two minutes. The day being a Monday there was unusual rush at the platform. He told me “as Indians we have different cultures and language in twenty eight different states and seven union territories but there are distinct Indian cultures in every part of India.”
‘Such as’-
“I think you know it, it has become a national culture!”
‘But you have traveled more than me all over the globe, hence you can enlighten me.’
“1: Ready to pay for any thing or every thing but for health they want it free.2: Ready to give you advice on any thing and every thing.3: Not concerned about others 4: Talking unnecessarily over mobile phones.5: Throwing garbage in side the train be it Baripada express or Rajdhani express.6: Boarding the train from the wrong side as these people are doing at the moment.
He paused. Why not make it ten, I intervened.
“You add another three” he said smilingly.
Why three will add four. Mine four will be 1: Blowing car or scooter horn every secong.2.Corruption/bribing in every field 3.Eating any thing and every thing in train but using mineral water.4: Males urinating in open space under public view.
“But we have hundreds of good thing about our true culture”-said the professor.
We had hearty laughter and parted as the train entered the platform.

A twin user trial of India's nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile by the Army was deferred today due to a technical problem at the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur near here.
"The test was postponed due to a technical snag," ITR Director said, adding that the date for future trial would be decided after correcting the problem.
The ITR director's statement came in the midst of media reports that two missiles had failed to take off during the twin trial. "I don't know on what basis they have concluded that the trial had failed,"

Luckily the test failed and we will have some more colder days.

I spent many years at Balasore but extremely sorry to state that if you compare the development of similar place where Ballistic missiles are tested > Bengalur,Hyderabad and else where,Balasore has been neglected.
Due to frequent testing of missiles from Chandipur and Dhamra There has been detrimental effects on the flora and fauna,especially the birds and tortoise life.We know defence is an sensitive and emotional issue but does not mean you do not pay any heed for the ecological problems in the coastal belt of Orissa.Our chief minister is happy just by changing few letters(Orissa=ODISHA) and showing his love for the state which he rules with out the ability to speak or understand Odiya!He must tell the defence ministry to plant trees which was advised by the Ex-President of India Abdul Kalam.He had advised the Government to plant 10 million saplings/trees a year in the 50 kilometer radius of the firing range.Has it been done?Except the land price which has sky rocketed after this Chandipur extablishment, nothing has changed in this sleepy town of Odisha called Balasore.No good medical facilities,no new industries,No parks, no good educational institutes(Engineering or Medical).The road from the official site to the testing range remains what it was some 40 years back.Because Odiyas do not have a leader to guide them they are happy killing Innocent animals by high voltage currents and,rasta roko for trivial issues.
However, concern was expressed that the long term ecological effects of testing might never never be understood because so little was known about the area's biology before the advent of the range.(Hey,1983)

DONKEY RULES

The first flaw is the condition of the pitch which is not uniform for both the teams.
2ND:The boundary line from center of the pitch is at times 50 yards to 100 yards, not uniform.
3Rd: There is no uniformity of the batting surface .
4:Some games DRS is applicable and others it's not accepted by one team.
5:ICC bows down to the rules and regulations and guidelines of BCCI which generate 70% of the money.
6:Batsman can hit a ball any way he likes where as a bowler has to tell the umpire/batsman whether he will bowl over or round the wicket or bowl right arm or left arm.
7:A ball hitting the helmet and going for 4 or 6 is not a dead ball.
8:A batsman can hit six fours or six sixes in an over where as a bowler can bowl only one bouncer per over!
9:If the batsman can have a personal bat why not a personal ball for a bowler?
10:Why heavy bats with new tchnology are allowed for the batsman where as non glazed balls are used in test matches?
There are plenty of flaws in the rule for the game of cricket hence one should not compare records of one era with another.The recent example is the 218 by Virendra Sahawg.The bondary line was only 50 yards as reportd on the front page of TOI!! So how one can compare a century of Melbourne(Boundary>80 to 100yards)with that of a century at Barabati Stadium or Holkar stadium Indore ??
For these reasons actually it's a donkeys game,played by donkeys, watched by Donkeys, rules formed by donkeys,commentators are also the same and governed by King Donkeys.

This small town? sleepy village is situated at the border of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh of India.The Maharaja Khrishna Chandra Gajapati was instrumental in keeping this place with in Odisha(Orissa) other wise the British government had decided it to be a part of Andhra pradesh.I spent my school days for three years, nothing much has changed in last 50 years.The photograph shows the Mahandrataneya river and the Queen's palace on the bank of this beautiful river.On one side of the river is Odisha and on the other side it's Andhra pradesh.More about this place next time.It's the head quarter of Gajapati District.

When there is mining activities,New industries or projects different people with vested interest come to Odisha to protest but no one has ever questioned the ecological disaster caused due to frequent test firing at Chandipur- Balasore.On one hand we blow our trumpet telling the world that we are peace loving people of a peace loving country but that's all.We(Odiya people) kill elephants by high tension wire,Five tiger pups could not be saved with so much medical advances ,road accident kills thousands every year,road conditions are so bad that the MIG factory of Sunabeda may be shifted out of Odisha.Coming to this testing range i can say that the sudden change of season and temperature is due(convention) to this huge amount of heat generated by the missiles.We are real hypocrites, on one hand we show our concern for the Ozone layer depletion and on the other hand we go on opening industries after industries and testing missiles.The best Laptop,Music system,Toys,Mobiles you name it i will get it which are made in China, so much for Indian technological development.Lets stop this testing of missiles causing natural disasters and have better foreign relationships with our neighbouring countries.One thing i can tell you, for last 20 years my predictions about sudden change in weather in Odisha due to test firing has never gone wrong(with out knowing that a missile has been tested at Balasore).The AGNI GODDESS/MISSILE true to it's name will ruin the next generation.For whom are we having all these modern gadgets and developments, when there will be sick people every where due to skin cancers,heart disease,diabetes and other incurable diseases due to global warming.In the name of defence developments lets not spoil our planet.After some time(thousands of years later) World will look like moon,mercury,Venus and people from some other planet will say here also there was some civilization.

YES, IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY INDIAN RAILWAYS.
1: Your train may be in time when you were last informed, but be prepared for two hours late or more.
2: Your train may be cancelled for so many reasons. Be prepared for it.
3: Getting your compartment is a tough job, the coach numbers have changed from S to B or vice versa or your compartment may be the last but one. Take the help of a coolly or else you may miss your train.
4: Getting in to compartment is a tricky job so enter any compartment and walk through the vestibule. Hence less or mini luggage is the best option.
5: Your berth may be occupied by some one else and the TTE is not in sight even though it’s more than a hour of departure of the train.
6: You may be asked to go to another compartment even if you have a valid ticket.
7: Lastly you may get a berth if your luck is good.
8: Cockroches/Rats in A/C compartment are common sight, do not panicky.
9: The A/C may be out of order and will be repaired in the next station.
10: Due to heavy flow of unauthorized passengers you may lose your seat if you had gone to the toilet.
11: Suddenly the train may stop for hours as there is engine failure/ or a derailed goods train.
12. Donot book an air ticket on the same day of arrival of your train, keep at least 24 hours in hand.
13: Hinzdads (eunuchs) during day time creates nuisance in certain routes.
14: Be careful of your luggage.
15: If you are travelling alone better insured your self and the luggage.
16: Donot make any friendship with any one.
17:If you are a medical doctor never tell that to your co passengers or TTE.
18: Take minimum food two days prior to the journey date (if it’s a long journey).
19: Do not ask your friend or relatives to receive or drop you from a railway station, provided you know the location.
20: Last but not the least thank God for arriving in one piece at your destination.
If you follow these simple steps you will not be disappointed.

63140 kilometers of Railway line,8702 passenger trains,6856 railway stations and 14 million passengers travel a day.We salute the Indian railways for the amazing service they provide to the passengers. Traveling in Indian railways is cheap/free provided you are above 60 years,Handicapped,going for cardiac or cancer treatment,railway ex service persons,going for railway interviews,padma shree or similar awards,freedom fighters etc etc, there is big list of it.It's Govt policy which has spoiled the Indian Railways, for example ex employees are earning in lakhs to crores of rupees after retirement still then they get concessions,why?For this reason getting a reserved ticket is really difficult, do not blame the railways, it's the vote bank theory which has and will spoil India, be it education,holidays,bandh, defense, airlines,medical or any thing and every thing is reserved in India.Next we will discuss how to get mentally prepared for traveling in Indian railways.

Why I do not like a rebirth?

Most likely I will not be born as a human being in my next birth due to my sins. But in case God gives me a choice I will request him to make me a crow or a dog but not a human being.
Are surprised as to why this fellow who has been a doctor does not want to enjoy his next life as a human being? People do all sorts of rituals like taking bath in polluted Ganga, going to Tirupati and bribing God with gold chains and lakhs of rupees to get a rebirth , but after going through many sleepless nights I decided enough is enough, no more human life.
Let me start from child hood.
Both my parents will be working so I will be left alone in house or in a creche or with a baby sitter.
There will be no brothers or sisters at home to play with and quite likely, no grand parents with fairy tales. I will have no freedom at home. By the age of three or four I will be sent to school with ten kg bag, a water bottle, with a diaper and some stuffed stale food stuffs. When I come home there will be no mother to greet me with a smile, I have to open the door my self. Till five I have to watch cartoon show only nothing else.
In the evening I have to do the school task and go to bed compulsorily.
Morning I have to get up early to catch the school bus. The same routine is repeated day in and day out. Father will hardly have any time to talk to me as he will be busy with his laptop and mobile phones. I will be asked to sleep in a bigger room all alone.
No games- no going out alone. I can not eat food of my choice. As a child I would not be allowed to ride a cycle, climb a tree or swim with my friends in the pond.
As I grow up, more restrictions will follow. Tuition after tuition, evenings will be spent in over-crowed coaching classes. Not allowed to go to fields to play or watch others play. I will not be allowed to move out on summer months as more coaching classes will be arranged. During examination there will be lot of stress and tension for me and my parents, as my performance will decide their life style and status in the society.
In the process of going through my school days, I'll be forced to loose a lot socially. By the time I do not realize that I have finished my school days it will be too late to know names of my cousins nor can I recognize my parent’s sisters and brothers.
I will be asked to remember when an Indian became a Miss world or A Gandhi family member was assassinated, or why such and such person became the president of USA.I will not be told about the names of my grand parents nor can I recognize their face in the group photographs.
I will not be allowed to attend any family functions due to examinations and tuition.
Even at the age of sixteen, I will have no experience of marketing, or booking a bus ticket. The travel agent will do every thing for me but at an extra cost. My parents would send me by flight or AC trains as there will be plenty of money with them. I will not face any hard ship due to shortage of money.
Lastly I may come out as a robot from an engineering college or some other college and then go for MBA most likely I will be sent abroad for a foreign degree to an obscure university and join some multinational company, purchase a house, get married, forget about parents and concentrate on “HOW TO EARN MORE MONEY”?
If I decide to become a doctor of medicine then whole of my youth will be spent on getting a seat in PG course and super specialization and I will surely forget how to treat malaria, scabies or a patient with round worm infestation. I'll refer them to another specialist.
By the age of 29 to 30 I'll have problems related to over-weight, diabetes, high blood pressure and impotence. My wife obviously will get worried and both of us would go out for medical check up in five star hospitals (med claim will bear the expenses) and lead a fast, stressed and tension-packed life.
With child-hood day’s charm-less, less exciting and with text book rotting, 'how to earn more money' will be the bottom line of life. There will be no mother-cooked food for me, no beating from father or any scope to play or fight with brothers or sisters. This looks hellish when I compare my present life; hence I have decided to become a crow or a stray dog.
At least it’s better one than a human life

ACUTE RENAL FAILURE

When there is sudden decrease in renal functions with rise in creatinine level with decrease urine out put and inability to maintain fluid balance in the body.When this occurs over hours or days with a preexisting normal kidneys we call it as acute kidney failure.
Identifying the cause is the first step in treatment.Remember 5% of hospital admissions and 30% of ICU patients carry a diagnosis of ARF(acute renal failure).25% of over all admitted cases for various reasons may develop renal failure.Majority of them will recover with timely interventions but some patients with multiple diseases may go to chronic phase.Dialysis may or may not be required depending on the pathology.
Normally creatinine level in blood is less than 1mg% but may start rising slowly over days.With decrease in urine out put and rise in creatinine level leads to a diagnosis of ARF.In day to day practice these are few common causes of ARF in India:malaria,Diarrhea,Gastroenteritis,Post surgical problems,Blood loss,certain drugs,Crush injuries,post delivery,abortions,Acute nephritis,shock syndrome, hepatitis, leptospira infection and hepatorenal syndrome.
Your doctor will decide when intervention is required for kidney problems with dialysis.

Petrol and essential goods price rise has become so frequent in India the reaction of people with a non existent opposition is like a barking dog behind an elephant.Neither Lungi clad-Chidamvaram babu nor foreign friendly Monmohan babu not Bengali bhadralok purchase any goods from the bazaar or haats so there is no impact on their life nor on the rich and famous politicians.The CPM which was supporting the UPA-1 from out side was working as a watch dog but with Bangali didi,Scam loaded southern ministers and BCCI famed minister are least bothered about how and what the governments doing.The recent China threat by the press is just to divert the attention of the public and to buy arms and ammunition with lots and lots of kick backs from western powers.
The recent F1 race is partly responsible for the price rise of petrol.If government has no say on bus fare, train fare, petrol price, vegetables, edibles,air fare, salaries of private organizations then we better have no government in India.
If you leave the business house to decide the prices of goods then no Hindu GOD can save India.

A time was there when you see a statue of some one in Madame Tussauds wax museum, you know that he or she is a world figure personality, but alas over the years it has diluted it's importance having different branches all over the world and building statue of dime a dozen personalities of the world of cricket and film stars.I have a feeling with in a year or so India too will have a Madam Tussauds at Delhi.You know we love any thing British or American and can go to any extent to get a good certificate from them.They charge around-150000 Pound sterling,roughly 1.5 crore of rupees for a wax statue.Our clay artists of Paschim Banga(W.B),India will make hundred times better statues than Madame Tussaud's.Why not have one ? Our Jaya's, Maya's,Mamta,s and Rakhi's will pour money for this project..Go ahead and get it folks.

When the grand prix event was taking place costing some billions of rupees this man was taking a cycle ride with some billions too.(after all children are the greatest assets).Both the pictures are from U.P state of India.Recently the Maruti Udyag had to shift it's plant to another state due to union problems.Lets hope this mega project with 40 billion rupees investment do not face similar hurdles in future.Be it film or cricket or other sports ,suddenly India has become a happy hunting ground for the celebrities for obvious reason, for money they can go to any extent.The authority who have the complex say-"It will generate $170 million a year, will give job to 10000 people(from which country?),will have a cricket stadium with 100000 capacity,18 golf course,25000seating capacity hockey stadium.Lets hope for the best for this sport complex.At the moment India is in a cross road, time will tell in what direction we are moving from bad to worse or vice verse.

Once upon a time a Jackal (England) was shouting for help as a bone had got stuck in his throat. He was rolling with pain. A Pelican (India) wanted to help him. The fish bone was taken out by the innocent but intelligent bird. They became friends there after (post IPL). So as an act of gratitude Jackal called his friend for lunch and offered her beef cutlet in a big plate. Pelican returned home with out food. Few days passed off and Jackal was called for lunch by his friend Pelican. She offered Sambar and dosa to her friend. Jackal returned home in empty stomach. The present India vs. England series is very similar to this episode. Every dog has his day.

WIFE'S GARDEN

My wife Kalyani is very fond of Flowers,with a very small gardening space she has planted so many flowering plants which surprises the onlookers.This red flower(a creeper) is known in Odiya as TAMALA(Diospyrus Tomentosa)other colors are blue and pink - 12 hours of flower life(6am to 6pm).The other one is morning glory that to blossom in the morning and fades in the evening.We have to learn many things from nature so also from these beautiful flowers-there is a message-do not bother about short time but make others happy during that small span of life.

WRONG ODIYA CULTURE:
In last decade Odisha is going through a very bad cultural mix up. People have lots of money and that too black money and need avenue to spend them and show off their vulgar wealth. Worshiping of Hanuman was a culture of North Indians only but in last decade due to TV shows and inter caste marriages this has been added to the list of festivals. The poring of water on Lord Siva during the month of Sravana was not there in Odisha but has taken a gigantic nuisance step over the years, so much so that those four or five Mondays it’s a night mare for the train and bus travelers. The Kadua chout was not heard off some years back. The dandia dance is another show off business in odish capital city of Bhubaneswar. Rakhi purnima too has been commercialized; no more that sacred brother and sisters relationship is to be seen any where during that day. Over and above the other festivals of North India has slowly and surely spread to this poor state in last decade. May be this has some thing to do with our Odiya boys getting married to north Indian girls .The parents of brides from north Indians are too happy to give away their daughter to these meek and mike Odiya boys with minimum of dowry fees. So much so that I find Odiya people are talking in Hindi with their wife and children at home!!So much is the sacrifice with our Odiya culture by our Odiya boys. They do not talk in their mother tongue while traveling and speak in horrible Hindi or English with fellow passengers.
As such Odiya have 465 days festivals as if that was not enough they are now mixing culture of other states to make it a khichidi culture state of India. May be some one will award a Bhat ratna to Odisha for cultural remix!

When one compares a 100 meters timing over the years then to some extent you are justified because the distance remains the same. Except for the surface on which the athlete run and the running boots others things remains the same over the years but in cricket it’s quite different scenario. Foot ball it’s the same surface and same weather for both the team where as in cricket there are so many variables hence I think it’s idiotic to compare Sachin with Bradman or Murali with Prassana.
The first hurdle for comparison is the ground size( i.e. boundary line) for example at Melbourne, the out field is quite big where as some grounds in India and west Indies have quite smaller boundary lines .The ICC has not made any fixed boundary line for international cricket. The pitch is not uniform. The coverings of pitch started in 1970 before that it was left to nature and dew over night. So one simply can not compare a batsman of 1950-70 with that of 1980-2010.Helmets came in 20th century before that with same cricket ball, pitch size and stronger fast bowlers batsman had difficult times. The LBW rule, the chucking rules, the no ball rules, the gadgets, the bat thickness, better technology, neutral umpires all made the game of cricket a different one from the Bradman era. Then how one can compare a player of 1950 with players of 2010??
With so many variables I do not think scientifically one can ever compare two players of different era. Earlier days a batting average of 50 was very difficult where as now you can find hundreds of batsman with 50+ averages.
The bowling rules have changed. For example some of the bowlers of present generation or just retired cricketers would not have been allowed to bowl in first class cricket in 1960-70! During those days if an established batsman complains about the bowling action then the bowler had to leave cricket or become a batsman instead. Then you have front foot rule and back foot rules.
With so many variables, let’s not compare present generation doctors, engineers, film stars, athletes, and sports persons with those of the past.

The recent concluded Nokia Champion League-T20 tournament might have been a fixed tournament and ICC president's team will be the winner was obvious from the beginning for some reasons.First out of ten teams six were outside India and four Indian teams.After the England debacle if any of those foreign team had own it then the public out cry and press heckling would have added further salt to the Indian cricket teams wounded ego.So any of the four teams had to win and BI was the obvious choice as per the book makers.Those bloody players do not play even 30% of their capacity/capability while playing for their country but are match winners for these clubs because money plays not the attitude.When ever you find any magazine or newspaper one will find foreign player roaming in Indian hotels or walking on the ramp. Naturally they do not say a word against India or BCCI. I think the best team to win this tournament was the NSW team and next best was T & T.
BI should not feel proud to win this league because it's due to one player from Srilanka(he has retired to play in India,,what a patriot player?)the other finalist had another unpatriotic player who single handedly took RCB to finals and would have won it but for that dubious LBW decision.Quite disgusting this masala cricket.

Bhubaneswar the capital of Odisha is an unique place where you will come across beggars to billionaires, pious people to most corrupt ones. This was under Puri district when there were thirteen districts in the state but when Odisha developed to have thirty it came under Khordha district. So it has all the ingredients of Puri people, Tricky, litigant, corrupt, quarrelsome and intelligent. Remembering the Sherlock Holmes dialogue “If an intelligent man turns to crime it’s deadliest of them all.” The increasing crime rate at Bhubaneswar justifies this statement. Basically people are lazy but aggressive and do not like to follow rules and regulations, be it ATM counter or Traffic rules. Like any other place in India this place has many temples, mostly illegal and have puja festivals round the year.
The city is in HOLIDAY MODE most of the time of the year, even the courier people do not come to deliver your items and letters.The “MODE “list is as follows

Recently I had a taste of this mode. First due to Ramzan month the car mechanic was on holiday mode for quite some time, on the line was Kartik puja (God of mechanics) followed by Durga puja as a result of which my car remained in the garage for more than a couple of months. When I went to bring back my car I found a huge cobra keeping her eggs warm on the back seat of my car. Puja is now more than few days old but still then my car has not been delivered. My wife says “sell it and do not bring it home as I will never board it again.”When last contacted with my mechanic he said “sir-one more has entered your car”.

A politician had a knack of raising his dhoti while delivering lectures. His adviser asked him to wear some costly undergarment, so that those poor stripes of local made under wears were not visible to the public. After lots of search some dozen of that imported staff was brought for the minister. The brand name VIP also impressed our politician.
There was a huge gathering on the occasion of Independence Day. Our minister was to get ready early for the function; naturally he was in a hurry to get in to the car. The meeting started dot in time and our VVIP minister was to deliver his key note address. He was very excited. To prove his patriotism and ability to speak he was lifting his dhoti to a higher level than usual just to show off his imported stuff under neath.There was huge commotion and people in the front row were getting very much excited. Our Minister was getting more excited due to public encouragement.

Life has two cycles-a good one- or a bad one. One may last longer than the other but will definitely come in every one’s life, no escape from it. When bad times comes it will make you depressed and a life with out purpose but one should not despair .If you know that you are having a bad time just keep a low profile but keep all the energy condensed for good days as it’s bound to come some day or other. For sports person if he knows his bad days are ahead he should retire gracefully as the bad days seems to last a longer than expected. Similarly in business your bad days are a testimonial for your patience so do not lose heart because life is a cycle of good and bad days, no one can escape from it. Some have longer good days others just the reverse.
This is true for all great people as they fought their bad days with a smile and waited for their opportunity to grab the good days. If you look in to the history you may find great people had very bad days but they waited knowing fully their own capabilities, so do not lose heart at the time of despair. Good days are the ones when you get inner satisfaction and outer success where as bad days are full of anxiety with failure and disappointment. Remember good days are not always pleasurable, with out concerns or difficulties. At times bad and good days are intermingled like spring and autumn seasons of nature.
The good and bad days or times usually include things like money, fame, love and health. These criteria differs from person to person, can change over time to time. Some very wealthy people when became seriously ill, money meant nothing to them because they know money can’t make them lead a happy life any more. During their good days the same money was every thing for them and money was the meaning of life.
Some of my readers might have noticed that they too had good and bad days in their life. So look back and you will realize what I mean. During these bad days-times what ever you try to do may be a failure or unsuccessful, where as impossible are possible during your good days- times with slightest of efforts.
This is like this: A true story: two friends were passing through these days, Amish was in good and Aditya was in bad times of their life. To test this hypothesis of “DAYS”, one of their friends put five silver coins and ten gold coins in a small purse and asked them to pick up two coins each one by one. Amish picked up two gold coins and Aditya two silver coins as they were going through good and bad times- days respectively. Some call this as fate others say it’s luck but it’s the cycle of life. So friends do not be too excited during your good days or too depressed during bad days it’s a cycle of life like a seasonal change.

If you open a magazine, newspaper, glossy paper, internet, TV and Cinema magazine it will have some naked photo or a scantily clad lady or some sex tips as if with out that the young generation will die! Why this? Because it sells, so more money. Two things are difficult to control for a weak willed person, they are urge to eat and eat and to have sex more sex.If some one can have control over these two, he or she can cross many hurdles in life. A sports person will perform better; a student will score more in examinations if they follow a simple mind controlling act called “CELIBACY”. You can try your self. If you are a runner your timing is bound to improve with mind control and sex control.Sex before any strenuous sports events will cause muscular cramps and loss of muscle power. If you are going for cross country race then refrain from sex one week before the main event, so also before the examinations. Some may not agree but there is nothing like 100% rule for any thing and every thing in life. Exceptions are there but it does not apply to all. In Hindu philosophy we have four stages of life, Childhood for play and enjoyment,( no sex).Youth for study and study + games for relaxations (no-sex),3rd:married life>sex for procreation and the last stage is detachment from worldly life and more of spiritual pursuits. Human being and Dolphin are the two living beings on earth who indulge in sex for pleasure and no one else.
But the western world‘s view about sex and sexual activities are totally different, they say sex is good for your heart, body and mind. They are so much obsessed with sex that they have given license for anal sex, oral-sex, and any unnatural sex as healthy. The present scenario of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases are partly due to western philosophy of human rights and free sex. The sex education in schools has resulted in more sex amongst youths and unwanted pregnancy. My sincere advice to my Indian students is to refrain from sex and concentrate on studies and extracurricular activities.

FLOOD IN ORISSA (ODISHA)
Every year the same scene is enacted in Orissa, flood & drought, a very high infant mortality, illiteracy and poverty level completes the misery of the people. The ruling party to get some cheap popularity changed its name from Orissa to Odisha but that was not enough to change the fate of this cursed state. There a dozen of rivers flowing through this state but instead of benefit they cause havoc every year as result of which the state goes back to the same place from where it started. The center gives aid but it goes to the coffers of mafias. No constructive work to prevent the sufferings of the people. Few districts are benefited every year but they refuse to vacate those places .Some say people of these localities are very complex and are litigants for that reason God punishes them with tsunami and other natural calamities very frequently. Those are low lying areas hence heavy rain and excess water in the rivers cause problems which no Government can prevent.
Usually this occurs just before Dushara but the fire works, festive atmosphere, processions and celebrations are same as before, millions go down the drain, no consideration for the flood affected people. Ruling party is happy so also the people of those same areas who get money .There are no immediate solution to this “annual festival “called FLOOD & DROUGHT. I can suggest one thing which may not be liked by many—tell those people who are affected by flood to move to another place and there will be no aid for people of the same area every year. One thing is for sure those who live with snakes have to be prepared for the bite so also people near river banks runs the risk of natural disasters

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Imagine a situation when the public will stop going to film theaters for viewing films as I have done for last thirty years! What will happen to our film hero’s and heroines? They have no educational qualifications hence they will have their own shows or become waiters or receptionist in their own or other’s hotels. Once film industry becomes a loss making organization people working there will come back to their own land and invest money in some other profitable business or they stay back .After all film industry is for entertaining people and making those undeserving stars vulgar rich. What will happen if people stop watching new films? A statistic shows thirty two percent of film lovers have not watched seventy two percent of old and new movies! People who are idiots watch TV shows for that reason the other name of TV is idiot box. Yes I agree, one should enjoy life but watching the remake, poly mix, multimix and duplicate movies make no sense. There are better place to take your girl friends or wives for relaxation. Try this for six months and start developing some constructive hobby and watch the results! Your house needs a fresh coat of paint, may be your almirahs needs defragmentation or you must sort out your DVD collections and see those movies you have for got to view! Try to visit your neighbors if they have no objections.
I will not ask you to stop watching sports of your choice because most of the events are not fake like films. At least they are on the play grounds with persons sweating out, running, jumping and scoring goals or earning points or scoring runs or taking wickets. What a film star does is only twenty percent but the most important part by the cameraman, background songs and music. The dialogue is written by some one, direction by the director, bravery by the stuntman, dialogues written script writers, dance by choreographers, songs by the background singers, the make up falsies plus top to bottom are all for visual hallucination of the viewers. Still we idiots watch them and visualize them as fairies and superman! Majorities of the film hero and heroines are metric failed, they are in this industry because of their family background and a handful due to their talents.Unfortunately these people are the hall mark symbols for the new generation.
My point of taking your time is who decides that such and such star should be paid this much? Why there is no ceiling! Once you reduce their salary or charges, which ever way then production costs will go down, there will be less of inflation and corruptions.
I would like to conclude that not watching new movies is not going to make your life less exciting or less entertaining. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, give it a try for six months at least.

Due to the rise of international price of petrol many people say many things. Like some astrologers, few experts who knows the inside politics of petrol had predicted that the barrel will cost this much by 2010 and 2011.All our efforts of export ,production and GDP come to nuts with the rise of petrol and diesel price, the whole economy of the country goes through the drain. Then what is the solution? Is this being done by super powers to pull back India’s progress? When the international price of crude is low (<$ 85-a barrel) the price of petrol should have been reduced but they say “rupee has been devalued”, so we have to increase the price. Do you know more than 70% of petrol pumps are owned by politicians or their friends or relatives in India? So your guess is as good or as bad as mine. How come those petrol companies in India made a huge profit in last few years in spite of so called huge loss by them?
Let’s purchase crude now in heavy amount by asking people to use money by depositing the useless metal called gold in banks. With this gold we must purchase huge amount of crude. If the price goes up further we are gainer and if comes down we are gainer because our foreign reserve remains the same.
Where are our economists? Do they still think India will be a rich country? Yes we will have few more Birlas or Mittals or Ambanis and there will be three classes of people in India- rich and super rich and the poor.
Here is an example of India’s yearly life cycle.
Due to extreme cold north India goes to winter vacation. The cricket season keeps the Indian public busy. Rain brings more misery to people in form of flood and disruption of transport system.. Summer months are a boon for Pepsis and five star hotels. Rich and famous goes out side India to return with monsoon. Political turmoil and repeated election dries up the reserve banks.Dry weather, no rain, more rain, draught, flood cold weather, cricket, political crisis, festivals and more festivals,strikes,new films and breaking news keeps the yearly cycle complete.
By that time the ministers have come back from foreign tours to give a press statement about what others have said about India and its rapid progress.
Sorry sir, by using mobiles (even in toilets), riding Skoda or Tavares, traveling by air do not mean progress, it’s an ugly side of richness only a few benefit not the country.
Unless we have our own economy control measures, progress will be very slow, it’s like keeping fish in others pond.

FAKE INJURIES AND UNFIT PLAYERS:
Indian sports persons have an unfit physic for sports. They are good for “gulli danda”and cricket.
How come they play so well in cricket not in others? Simple, in cricket you do not need body fitness; see Ranatunge, Marvan Hughes, laxman, David Boon, Pawar etc a long list in international cricket. Where as in football you need real fitness for that reason, India with 120 crores population is not even in the first 50 teams! What a shame?
Recently concluded Davis cup Tennis and Cricket Matches in England have shown that our players fake injuries or hide injuries to miss matches or earn money. I thing the main reason being the coach who teach the rabbits to behave like tigers and make them play football or basket ball in stead of the main game. Imagine a donkey being asked to run like a horse? Same is true for other games. If a fast bowler develops wrong muscles then no doubt he will bowl fast but will lose control over the ball. Spinner do not need to develop muscles in shoulders if they do so then they become chucker. Most of the players/film stars are interested to walk on the ramp to earn some extra money but for that they need a good body with muscles, to achieve that they go to gymnasium and take anabolic steroids. As a result of which their game suffers and the film stars start removing their shirts and other coverings to show off their fake bodies. While playing for the country they tell they are injured but for IPL and other money rich tournaments they tell that they are fit like a lark. Recently concluded Davis cup match even those fifth grade players did not play few matches as they are bad losers, faking injuries.
We won a hockey match after a long time that too by tie breaker and money is showered on them as a political gimmick.What a shame a country with hand full of sports person spends billion but hardly show any result. High time we collect semen from world class sports persons who have just retired and inseminate our well built black ladies to produce good athletes and sports persons for future India instead of spending billions for useless tournaments, sports events and foreign coaches.

Blessing in Disguise

There is a saying when majority suffer a handful rejoice- that’s the rule of the game called natural calamity. Here I mean the human beings only, because this two legged creature will not hesitate to cut ones near or dear one throat in case of his difficulty. Where as a tiger or a bear does no harm a man who tries to climbs the same tree where they have taken shelter due to flood.
Now it’s the time for flood in Orissa, I will confine my self to this state only because some one else will write for others.
Ever since I have started reading Odiya news paper from my school days one thing is obvious that this state will not progress for two reasons, the rivers and its people.
Now its flood time in Orissa, the hoardings are still there on the road side about the preventive steps for heat stroke.
How come a natural (?) disaster like heat wave and flood will be a Blessing in disguise?

In summer season Government spends lakhs for purchasing tents, pots, glasses, first aid teaching classes ,hoardings, news paper warnings, plus ten thousand of rupees for death due to heat stroke(Government. figure and press figure never tally) .You know who will be benefited “Public hai sab jante hain” from the heat wave. The opposition and the ruling party make a deal and fight in the “well” of the house where as people die in search of a ‘well’ in the village for a liter of drinking water. The school and colleges are closed by Government over night because of a combined attack by media and opposition party. But the students continue to go to private tutorial classes in spite of the heat. Some rich and famous schools do not carry on the Chief Minister’s order telling that-- their schools are centrally air conditioned.
Now the heat wave is gone but the weather continues to be hot and humid and the education institutes and its teaching staff getting ready to get up from their two months hibernation.

Hardly the auto, the taxi, the school bus and cars have started taking students to schools and colleges the rain comes. For big cities its fun time due to water logging as buildings are built every second day but with out drainage facilities. The press and media people are busy in high lighting the miseries of the people with out any solution, (one can see in TV a half drowned man is being interview—‘as to how does he feel’? (Apko kaisa lagta hai?, HOW DO YOU FEEL?) the man excitedly blames the ‘sarkar’ -for not doing any thing for him. The schools in villages which had opened after the summer vacation are once again closed as class rooms are converted to social homes for flood victims. Whether it’s train or bus accident or natural calamities media take a delight in bringing out from victims mouth-- “ Sarkar kuch nehin karte”(Government is not doing any thing)
Of late a ‘national attitude’ has become a ‘state attitude’. If people of Orissa have gone out of their own for picnic or sight seeing and dies out side due to accident then why ministers and Government officials should fly by air and bring back those dead person’s at a huge cost of exchequers money, as if they are martyrs!!

Odiya paper’s head line reads like this “record flood in such and such river”, other countries are making records in sports or inventions but we make records in flood, train accidents, road accidents, malaria, starvation and infant mortality, what a shame?? Do not blame it for global warming, its hand warming which causes the flood in Orissa. The river beds are filled with sand, the trees on the river banks are no more, the national highways passing through different towns acts as an embankment with no proper drainage facilities and the sanctioned money is not spent for prevention but for prolongation hence this annual phenomenon.
The mudslinging act starts by the opposition telling that the present flood is man made.
May be in a day or two the CM (photos have already been published)with his starched white kurta and Paijama will try to emulate Gopobandhu and fly by air to see the flood scenario. After his return with a gloomy face he will call for a press conference and will tell that ‘he is going to Delhi for Rs: 5000 crores for the flood victims’ (? politicians& businessman).The flood recede of it’s own as the lunar force become less and less on the Bay of Bengal. It’s high time the name should be change to “BAY OF SORROW” because the Bengali (here I mean Bengali from Bangladesh) continues to harm Orissa/Odisha as “Bangladeshi migrants “and “Bay of Bengal”.
The flood problems remain as it was when I was a school student, as we do not believe in prevention; we are a state of patch work management and happy to have the Lord of the Universe who does nothing except bringing miseries after miseries to the state of Orissa as he is not troubled so also our present day “LORDS”.

So one can look for other interest of a student like arts, games, sports, drama etc, they may excel in them not in studies. Sanjoy Kumar Satpathy spent his younger days playing different games but cricket was his favorite one.He was a medium pace opening bowler in spite of his fragile built.He represented Mayurbhanj,Cuttack,Parlakekhmundi, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in the Kalahandi cup Inter district tournament of Orissa.He played for Utkal University for three years.Later on he was a regular member of Orissa Ranji trophy team from 1965-78 .He was selected for East zone cricket team and played against Ceylon and West Indies.
It was a tough job for him playing cricket and reading medicine.There are few Medicine specialist in the World who also have played 1st class cricket.
In those above photographs you can see Doctor sanjoy and cricketer sanjoy satpathy.Along with him from right to left Dr.sanjoy,Prof.S.C.Dash(1st Endocrinologist of India),Dr and Director SAIL D.N.Mohapatra,DrS.S.Pati Biochemist.

DENGUE CAUSING NEUROLOGICAL DEFICITS

During the recent epidemic of DENGUE at Anugul and Dekhanal district of Orissa lots of patients were referred to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment.Ayush hospital where i work as consultant physician has the responsibility of treating these patients.The most interesting thing was the neurological deficits in these dengue patients which mimic like LGB(LANDRY GUILLAIN_ BARRE) syndrome.I had the opportunity to pick up three such patients with neurological deficits.To my knowledge this rare complication is not noticed by many physicians and not high lighted.This is an observation which needs documentation for the next generation of doctors .All my patients improved with in two weeks.The neurological problems appear during or after the illness.This may be treated as case report from a physician with 35 years of experience.

CORRUPT PRACTICE AND WORSHIPING OF GODS:
A time was there when Saraswati puja and Ganesh puja were being organized and celebrated in schools and colleges only in the state of Orissa before 70’s but things started changing after that, once corruptions and money became synonymous with worshiping when Hindu culture went for a toss. The latest being the Rakhi purnima which has become a comedy for the college boys, girls and politicians. Tell me why young girls from convents schools should tie a Rakhi in the hands off CM, PM or Governor or president? These girls are neither the sisters nor sister in laws of these politicians then why this joke? Doesn’t it look ridiculous? It’s a function of one’s own sister tying the Rakhi in the wrist of one’s own brother if you do not have a brother blame your stars, but why this show business? Just to fill up the pages of the newspaper with photos of these politicians? Coming to other festivals like the “Bol bam” a festival lasting for four weeks when the hired poor people are asked to pour water on the Siba Linga during the month of Sravan(rainy season) out of which few hundreds are crushed under the wheels of trucks. Then we have the Duga Puja festival after a month or so when ruffians will collect money from truck drivers to residents forcibly in the name of Maa Durga.
As the people are getting more educated and more moneyed the worshiping culture and festival menace are getting worse and worse in India. There is no one to protest with the fear of being victimized by the local ruffians.Then there are Hundreds of local festivals, it’s a mystery how India with so many closed holidays is able to thrive in the international market? Like 13th of this month, there was a Rakhi purnima holiday, 14th was a Sunday, 15th was an Independence Day (a national holiday), so straight three days plus if you have a good rapport with the boss , then one can arrive late on 16th, making it four days of holidays. The most disturbing time is the nuisance of Mike, Fire works, Garbage and what not during the festive seasons.
During Rath Jatra we cut hundred of trees to make a chariot to have a festival. If one raises a voice then he is labeled as anti Hindu. Dalit Hindus are not allowed to enter the Puri temple, why? In the 21st century we can have modern Rathas(chariots) for our deities say built in steel or aluminum which will last for many years with out ecological destruction.
I think this is one type of corruption in the name of God for which no Hindu should feel proud of. It’s high time we change our attitude towards our festivals and worshiping habits. It’s not the Hindu culture which is bad or good but how we keep it intact without exploiting it for another thousand of years is to be seen.

India is a vast country with different language, culture,weather,religion,food habits and religious belief still then its one united country over thousands of years.See this man, who stays in slum areas of Bhubaneswar but has come out for his livelihood in spite of the incessant rain in the early hours of 12th August morning.He collects all the plastic, glass bottles,beer bottles,any object you want to discard even a old non functioning fritz, old TV or an oven any thing you name it he takes it from your house and pays for it.This door service is very popular amongst the city dwellers in India.You can observe a bull who is there to clean up the thrown out left overs of the previous night.Some times the street dogs and the bull share the same meal with out much of a fight.
Even though people are using black berry,laptops,Jaguars and other modern gadgets the habits are bad which creates lots of nuisance every where.Rules are there but the people takes credit in breaking the rules.
Coming to our poor scrap man he is sincere and enjoys his job.I hope this system is not bad as long as we are able to give employment to these few needy people.

SNAKE BITE VICTIMS

During rainy season and just before that we do get lots of snake bite victims from the near by villages.Majority of cases do not give a definite history of bite, hence its up to the clinicians who have experience can spot the diagnosis.Cobra bites on provocation, but the common krait (Picture)bites without.The zoological name is-BUNGARUS CAERULEUS.It's one of the deadliest snake of the world.This person was bitten while he was asleep.When he did not get up from bed in the early hours of the morning, his wife called the relatives and brought him to Ayush hospital where i work.For me there was no difficulty to know that he needs anti snake venom and respiratory support.He did regain his consciousness after 36 hours and told us that he was bitten by some thing in the right shoulder but the local pain was very little, hence he did not disturb any one.He recovered and gave me permission to publish his photographs. The snake was not killed due to superstitions.The only treatment for snake bite poisoning is ASV(anti snake venom)+ respiratory support, in case of neurotoxic poisoning.There are other types of snake bite but that is beyond the scope of my blog.
Along with the Dengue epidemic and malaria cases we do get lots of snake bite cases through out the year but mostly in rainy season as mentioned earlier.

Dengue is a viral disease transmitted by the bite of ades mosquito.Its a RNA FLAVI VIRUS.Way back in 1779 there is early description of this condition in medical history.There are three conditions of the disease,a milder form(uncomplicated),other two are severe form 1: hemorrhagic dengue fever and a severe form known as 2:Dengue shock syndrome.The mosquito is a day time bitter mostly during early morning and late noon hours.Now there is an epidemic out break in Orissa of Dengue fever, so travelers be careful about this dreaded disease.No vaccine no specific treatment.The districts effected are Anugul,Denkanal,Balangir and keonjhar.

This is a peculiar fruit bearing tree which has male and female trees, see the photograph.Found in tropical countries.When unripe the inside is eaten for it's high potassium and water content but when ripe it gives out a peculiar smell which many people donot like except the people of Mayurbhanjs district of Orissa,India.For making chapati and other edibles the procedure is trouble some hence most of the modern girls do not like to make cake(PITHA) out of it.My sisters Bina pani and Soubhagya manjari who learn the art of making these items(see photo)from my mother and grand mother were kind enough to make some and send it to me.KAKRA-- Taala roti and taala bada.Those ladies who are interested can write to me in my email address.

The main reasons are as follows and this is going to get worse.The price of essential commodities like vegetables, rice, wheat,oil etc will be at par with American with in short time thanks to our selfish approach of the politicians and bureaucrats.
1: Dual Sim: meaning there by both husband and wife are employed, so money is no problem.
2:Wasteful expenditure: like giving costly gifts to Boss's wife's birthday or other occasions.Two TV one for each room as both can't watch the same programme.
3:Lots of black money
4:Pay scale revision.A lecturer gets more than 50 thousand just by taking 3 to 4 classes a week
5:Comparison with others.Neighbor has a Honda city why we should have a Maruti 800?My friend has a plasma TV why i should have a old model one?
6:Attitude: Attitude has changed, must spend money attitude.
7:Equality: This is a dangerous American trend, like a sweeper or a taxi driver wants to get the same money like that of a cardiopulmonary surgeon!
8:Disparity in salary: one man of the match in cricket gets Rs50000 for scoring 35 runs and taking two wickets where as a nurse gets 5000 rupees in most of the private hospitals.An actor gets Rs10 to 20 crores where as a professor get Rs 1 lakh per month.
9;Easy money due to availability of counterfeit notes.
10:Small family: plenty of money but only one son or one daughter.So money is no constrain as both the parents are earning.
11:Easy availability of money from banks.
I think days are not far off when we have to purchase one banana for rupees fifty, that's exactly what the Western world wants us to do.First they have asked for human rights, child labor and out sourcing and our politicians for reservation policy which all will result in import of workers from Bangladesh and China.
