1.Meena
Kumari, who is also known as the 'tragedy queen' of Indian cinema, shot to fame
in the early fifties with the release of Baiju Bawra and went on to do some
historic films. However, in her personal life, she battled with alcoholism,
which led to her demise in 1972. Reportedly, her family sold off her bungalow
to pay her medical bills.
2.Vimi
made her debut in B.R. Chopra's Hamraaz in 1967 and rose to stardom in quick
time. However, after her separation with husband Shiv Agarwal, things took turn
for worse and Vimi was left with no money or emotional support. She spent her
last few days in the general ward of Nanavati Hospital. She was in her thirties
when she died in 1977. The world was shocked to know that her body was taken
for cremation on a chanawalla's thela.

famous actor Achala Sachdev died a painful death in Pune after she was totally
ignored by her US-based son and Pune-based daughter.

actor AK Hangal faced a major financial crisis after his successful stint in
Bollywood. Apparently, during his last years, he was unable to pay his medical

King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, reports surfaced that the
singer was in debt of $285 million.

actors in the country who defined stardom. He had loads of money but he lost

during the last days of his life.

of cars and had lots of followers. However, during his last days he had no

the renowned photographers in Bollywood, Jagdish Mali was found on the roads of
Mumbai with no clothes and no shelter in a very horrifying state days before

struggled with divorces, alcoholism and mental illness, which left her broke

10.Oscar
Wilde, the famous author and playwright, went bankrupt in 1895 after he was
charged with gross indecency by Queensberry. His estate was liquidated as well,
and by the time he went to jail, he had lost nearly everything. He tried
unsuccessfully to recreate his previous literary genius, but failed miserably
and died alone and penniless in a Paris hotel in 1900.
