               CHEATING : A WAY OF LIFE

                                        Why this cricket ball tempering is a big news? Why not leaking of matriculation mathematics paper? People pass their medical examination or MA by cheating. Cheats are everywhere. The world is full of cheats. Wearing no helmet is also a cheating.

Cricket is most interesting and scientific game. Americans do not play it because they can’t understand the laws and bylaws plus they are restless persons and do not have time to watch a game of cricket. The rule has been set and one has to follow it. Why does one start cheating? To gain some thing for oneself and for the team. Years back cheating started by one Indian legend by getting the non striker out by removing the bails while on the move to deliver a ball, they call it unsportsmanlike? Even players used to change ball on the boundary line. People used oil or Vaseline to shine the ball. Then Pakistani fast bowlers taught reverse swing to the world of cricket. The game is so heavily loaded in favor of batsmen that bowlers feel like lambs to slaughter house. The batsman can use heavy and thick bats, can wear helmets, elbow guard, chest guard, the boundary line is made short for them. The batsman can bat left handed or right handed without notice where as a bowler has to tell in advance whether he or she is going to bowl in right or left arm? Why this double standard? Recently one of our star batsmen used Vaseline on the outer edge of bat so that the snicko meter can't pick the noise but he was not punished. Cheating in every team game goes on. Another famous cheating was in the world cup football where a famous player scored a goal by hand and their team won the world cup! Match fixing in individual games like tennis and badminton goes unnoticed .Our God of Indian cricket did similar thing in SA but for him the next test was made unofficial because he was banned for the next match.
I am not a great supporter of cheats but my point is why the bowlers will not be allowed to have his personal ball like batsman use personal bats? Eighty overs are too much for a next new ball, it should be reduced to 60 overs to keep the game even. Everyone in life cheats at some point or other, some confess others do not.

Friends these (Photo)are cherry tomatoes now available at Bhubaneswar--Whole sale price Rs:2/- market price varies from Rs:5/- to Rs:10/-.A time was there at Rourkela where house wives used to make tomato sauce for the whole year and kept in empty squash bottles.Those days most of the officers wife of the steel plant were house wife.They produced wonderful children and efficient officers for the society.The day more numbers of house wife left home and maids took over society became corrupt and unemployment increased.One member from each family should get a job in government service.
The media and TV starts criticizing the state government and center for price rise but no one praises the government and farmers for the efforts!If we stop press and media for few months most of our problems will automatically get solved.Potato are still available for Rs:10/- but news paper have a different story to tell!
One can use it as beauty treatment.Cut the tomato in to half and rub it on your face for few minutes and then wash-off after twenty minutes.Can be used to treat dandruff.Thanks for reading.Please tell your friends about my blog.

Whom to call for dinner?

                                                         After a long discussion my wife and I decided to call a close friend Hareram, for dinner. He immediately switches on his phone and wished us good morning. When I called him for dinner he said he is at Hyderabad, would return after the delivery of his daughter in-law which was expected after 7 to 10 days. He thanked us for the invitation.

                       Then I thought it’s not a bad idea to call my aging brother in-law, a retired UGC Professor. But my sister told me he has gone to Paralakhemundi.One on an official work and inspection.

                           Lastly I called my friend who usually never says no. My wife said “do not invite them, both are vegetarian and they do not want to come to our house because of the distance.”There are other hurdles on different days like Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays,                                       That was it. We stopped the idea of inviting any one and finished the prawn (from frozen world) biriyani and dal makhani cooked with out most care by my caring wife.

                                           Now a days with our aging relatives and friends with CRF, stents and TKR we find it difficult to have a get-together at home. But they are willing to come if invited to star hotels, the reason best known to them. The society has narrowed down to a sick husband and an aged wife no young members. They stay in duplex or in three or four bed room apartment in posh areas of Bhubaneswar. No good news come to any one, it’s mostly accident or cancer news—quite depressing. This might be one of the reason why Indians—Odiya are not happy. If the body is sick no one can be happy. There is a gloomy atmosphere in any house one visits. दिल मांगे मोर, may be the reason of gloomy faces one meets every day. They wait for the evening for the “What’s-up” just to talk to their children(majority do not like it), even their grand children do not recognize their grandfather nor do they remember their names! This is Kaliyug man—said my parrot instead of “Ram—Ram”.

COMMONSENSE MEDICINE:

Water drinking is a simple and commonsense habit for which you do not have to go to a doctor or search Google .It varies for different age group, sex, professionals, countries, associated diseases, environmental temperature and urine output. Babies on mother’s milk do not have to feed water separately.

Please keep your drinking water in glass bottles or in earthen pots. Keeping water in used Pepsi, coca cola plastic bottles in side fritz is bad for your health. Avoid mineral water kept in plastic bottles. There is no fixed rule like one must drink one liter or two liters or three liters per day. As long as your urine color is not deep yellow means you have adequate water in your body. Our system is not like a commode that you drink plenty and flush out the garbage through kidneys.

Avoid drinking water directly from the fritz or icebox. Once you feel thirsty drink about 200ml.Drinking plenty of water after a heavy meal is idiotic idea, stop that habit. Pepsi or Coca-Cola after meals delays your digestion and produce lots of gas in intestine.

There are different guidelines for sportsman, pregnant ladies, and school going children, physical workers, diabetics, kidney failure patients, prostate patients, heart patients and house wives regarding how much water to drink per day.Ask your doctor for further advice provided he has knowledge about it!Water is essential for life. So ditch those plastic bottles in the dustbin and make way for good storage bottles.Do not make it dangerous for your health.Drink clean water!The rise in cancer incidence could be due to plastic in our system.It's common to see cold drink bottles kept in hot sun in India which is a dangerous practice.

Why not go in for ‘Smart Villages’ concept?

By 2050, the world’s population will reach almost 10 billion. This fact presents an unprecedented challenge that shifts the responsibility to cities as the United Nations estimates that 67 per cent of the world’s inhabitants will live in urban areas. The economic, demographic, social and environmental challenges are likely to be tackled with one and the same concept: Smart Cities. Governments from all over the globe are, in parallel mostly and in collaboration in some cases, playing the same card by trying to make everything “smart” under the same idiotic ideas of smart cities and projects with some great projects that aim to improve the lives of the inhabitants of cities.

We reviewed some of them here and concluded that this is a political idea and nothing to do with real improvement in living standard of the people residing there in cities. Bhubaneswar’s air is highly polluted, but it is considered to be amongst best twenty cities of the world!

Instead of the smart cities concept, our present Prime Minister should have stressed for a ‘Smart Villages’ concept in a country where the urban population’s ‘smart requirements’ would have shifted to villages where 70 per cent of the population lives. Our cities have become congested with unhygienic environment and stressful life. Peaceful village life has been converted to slums around cities. Different Governments went for wrong projects and slowly destroyed the Indian village life. Modern facilities remained confined around cities only; hence, the mass exodus of villagers to big cities started from the 1970s onward, even the education institutions, hospitals centered inside big cities on Government lands.

The Government should have stopped the industrial revolution of Nehru and started Jai Jawan Jai Kissan projects. The corporate houses should have been asked to shift their hospitals, big bazaars, and showrooms from big cities to vacant uncultivated lands. Creation of forests near each village and plantation projects near highways should be the best way to start the smart village projects. Multistory residential houses should be built near these smart villages where doctors, paramedical staffs and teachers could stay. The population should be evenly distributed all over India. Because of infrastructures and good roads, there would be no constrains for the Government to have this new scheme.

Time is running out due to deforestation and foreign industries in India resulting in global warming. Instead of reducing vehicles on roads, the Government is encouraging the automobile industry for financial gains at a cost. Even after seventy years of independence, villagers do not get good drinking water and modern medical facilities. Having different projects does not mean the country will progress. The banks, the airlines and railways run by the Government are full of corrupt officials, a fact which surfaces from time to time once a Government goes out of power.

I think our PM instead of this smart city dream must think seriously about the “Smart Villages” concept and encourage people to stay away from the overcrowded cities. Chandrababu Naidu had this “Smart Cities” concept decades back but he was voted out of power. We hope the present Government does not meet a similar fate in near future!

SMART CITY?

Should all the Odiya celebrate and dance on the roads after Bhubaneswar became a top smart city amongst 20 cities of the World?

Smart Road Crossing:

                               There is hardly any provision for footpath and road crossing in Bhubaneswar. These following vehicles ply during day and night on the main roads, truck, big and medium size buses, school bus, petrol and diesel cars of different size, diesel driven three wheeler auto rickshaws, medium size trucks, petrol bikes and scooty,hand driven carts, municipality and sewerage vehicles, cows, bulls, buffalo and street dogs on roads. No data on air and sound pollution level at Bhubaneswar? No proper road markings. Most of the traffic lights do not function properly, over taking on right and left without signal is a normal driving etiquette. Traffic police and traffic lights signals do not synchronize. Smart drivers outsmart traffic police. Only 30% drivers use helmet. No driver drives within speed limits as mentioned on the roadsides. With all these should we celebrate or cry?
