MEMORIES OF FIZA
FIZA IS NO MORE
MY PET DOG FIZA:
FIZA a German Spitz was presented to
me by Principal of Rourkela Law College,
Prof Monoranjan Das, in the year 2000 at
Rourkela. It was a very tiny dog hardly
one month old and refused to take milk or anything offered to her, my wife and
me were worried what to do? We tried for 48 hours different combinations but
she refused every thing except water. One night it struck to me why not some
boiled chicken? She took it with delight and from that day till her death she
was only interested in non vegetarian food.
Today at 0635 hours she expired in my
lap – I was crying like a child, she looked at me and her eyes too were full of
tears. I said to her your time is up-- good bye and thank you for the love and
affection, attachment you have bestowed on us for last 12 years. She used to be
a part of my life from morning till night, would wait for me till 3pm for her
lunch.She lived a full life but her cause of death was cancer of stomach
plus old age. The sentiments can only be

RESERVATION IN SPORTS
Sports-Quota in India:Reservation in Sports.
(A satire)
Imagine Indian
cricket team with reservation policy, of course it exists but in a different
way. Our great politicians have recently introduced a bill in Rajya Sabha and
Lok Sabha for better performance in all disciplines of sports and games.
As per the new
guidelines the captain has to be a dalit (lower caste) the vice -captain from a
minority community. Bowler and Batsman
from the congress ruled states and the extras will be lady cricketers and
luggage boys from non congress ruled states.
The team will be
selected by the bench officials of SCS of India.
The same guide
lines will hold true for other games & atheletics. All the sports persons
of India
have to register them selves with the different political party of their
choice.
The players have
to wear a logo of the party which they belong to.
All the stadiums
will be named as follows:
1: Neheru-Indira stadium
(Athletic events)
2: Indira-Neheru stadium
(Indoor swimming complex)
3: Rajib-Rahul
indoor stadium (Sword fight)
4: Priyanka
indoor tennis court.
5: Rahul sports
complex. (In place of SAI)
6: Sonia- Rajiv
20-20 Mega Event (20minutes foot ball tournament)
7: Sonia Tennis
tournament (One set tournament)
8: Rahul World
cup mixed Cricket tournament. (Gents +Ladies)
9: Priyanka-Bhadra Ladies cricket tournament
(5- overs)
10: Menaka-sanjoy
dog fight tournament (International)
11: All the stadiums&sports
events will be named after a Nehru or Indira Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi family
member, with immediate effect.
12: The reservation
policy will also be applicable in case of selectors and officials.Chief of
Sports Authority of India will be the President of India.
With this policy India will be
the undisputed champion in all games and sports.

IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA
My Presidential speech;
My country men, I am glad to deliver
my speech as a non political individual to you on this 65Th anniversary of Indian Independence.
Let me start with our politicians,
there should be a retirement age for politicians say 65years, and no one can
become minister for more than twice in his life time, that’s also applicable to President, and PM posts.
The President bungalow will be
converted to a five star hotel and the profit will go towards the development
of villages and for schools. No two members from the same family will be in the
ministry &there will be no reservation policy in any political field.
People with any criminal records will not be allowed to contest until the cases
are decided in the court of law. Post of VP and Governors will be abolished
with immediate effect. CMs will report directly to President. No politicians
will be allowed any foreign trips with family during official visits.
Person actively involved in sports, cinema or
other profitable business will not be allowed to contest. No MPs or MLAs will
be allowed to advertise any product. Both MPs and MLAs election will be held
simultaneously. The number of holidays in schools and colleges has to be
reduced with consultation with the education ministry.
Nomination system to RS will be
immediately with drawn and the old British system of two houses i.e. Upper and
Lower class will be abolished; only LS will function i.e. minimum 265 days in a
year. The new rule will be one man one post.
The IAS, IPS and similar one
examination post system will be converted to fully fledged course of five years
after passing out the +2 examination. This will be like any MA, MSc, and
Medical, Engineering or Law degree course. During their study period all
students irrespective of degree course will have to spend at least six months
in villages.
The security will only be provided to
PM and CMs of the country, others can have their own security guards. NCC, sports
and other extracurricular activities will fetch marks for the final
examinations.NCC will be made compulsory in schools and colleges except in
professional colleges. There will be no union in colleges or schools. Any problems in schools or colleges whether
personal or general, can be taken up with the higher authority i.e.-collector
or DCP.
Criminal cases to be decided by two
months and there will be no clemency systems for rape and murder crimes. Back
log of cases will be finished by this year end, no holidays for the judiciary
till the cases are over.Cutting of trees will invite heavy punishments. All black
money kept in foreign banks to be brought to the country and utilized for
constructive work.
BPL, Rs2 kilo rice and old age
pension scheme will be stopped with immediate effects. Road and Rail blocks
strikes will be dealt firmly and no compensations for road accident or train
accident victims, all Indians have to have a LIC policy where individual and Government
will share 50-50 policy charge.
Cattles on roads will be removed
after adequate warning to the owners. Heavy penalties for the owners who let
their cattle roam in the streets. All stray dogs and cattle have to be freed in
the dense forests.
All four wheelers and two wheelers
companies will be asked to produce vehicles with maximum speed of 80 & 40 kilometers
respectively for use in side town and cities. Multinational products will be
20% costlier than Indian products. No bank loans for building of houses and
costly cars. One house per one individual family.
Three wheelers will be phased out and PTS (public
transport system) will be introduced. Roads to be privatized all over India.
No students will be allowed to go out of India
within five years of passing out the final examinations without a bond. Salary
of staffs in private firms cannot be more than similar jobs in government organization.
Twenty percent of salary will be blocked for a period of 5 years with 10%
interest and that will be tax free. No individual salary in the country will be
more than that of President of India.
No cultivation land can be sold for
house building purpose. All farmers’ crops will be insured.
Voting system will be totally changed.
One can vote through his or her computer or through ATM machines. Your PAN card
number is enough for voting rights, persons who do not have a PAN card or
recognized ID cannot vote. Voting cards system will be obsolete.There will be
points system as in the President’s election. The voters of India have the
following voting points, under metric- 1 point, under graduate-2 points, post
graduate-3 points,DM.MCh, PhD- 4 points, Prof- 5 points, Majors and above -6 points.
No candidate can contest without a graduate degree. No immigrants will have any
voting rights. A person born in India can only be elected as President and PM.
An MLA without the reading, writing and speaking ability cannot be the chief
minister of that state.
There will be Lok Adalat and its
decision is final.
I have to resign here and now as I am
more than 65 years of age, therefore poverty, corruptions, literacy, road &
railway transport, crimes and defense system will be taken care of by the new
generation of politicians, bureaucrats and the youth of our mother land.

OLYMPIC IS OVER
Tomorrow the President of India may say we have done wonderful this time in Olympic by getting six medals that is the number we achieved in last four Games! So we are in right path---clap--clap.
In one thing we are the best, one can say GOLD medalist, is in closing down the railways and national highways for petty matters-- by calling a Bandh.

SNAKE BITE DEATHS
SNAKE BITE AND DEATHS IN ODISHA:
Every year thousand die due to poisonous snake bites in
Odisha, many are reported others goes undiagnosed and unreported. We have
antisnake venom for four common land venomous snakes of India, they are Cobra (naga),
Russel’sVipers (Bada), Saw scaled vipers (small bada sapa) and Kraits (Chiti).Kraits
are of different colour and size but in Odisha we have Banded Kraits and common
kraites(kaudia chiti)The incidence of snake bites is highest during the end of
summer and beginning of rainy season or at times due to unseasonal rains. We
have transgressed in to their territory by building houses and roads as a
result of which they come out of their hiding place and bite human beings. The
venom is used by the snake to paralyses its victim so that it becomes easier
for it to swallow plus the venom also has digestive properties for the snake.
They bite human beings for self protection and majorities are accidental.
The problem with snake bite and snake bite poisoning are different.
They are not synonymous A: person may be bitten by a poison snake but may not
die due to many factors, A: biting over a thick cloth or on the shoe B: biting
after a fight/meal C; Broken teeth D: Dry bite. We call a bite as dry bite when
no venom has entered the victim.
Many die due to fright, shock, running after the bite, and
not coming for treatment in time. People have wrong conceptions about snakes
hence they go to quacks and snake charmers and arrive very late in hospitals
and blame the doctors and authorities. A full grown Cobra & King cobra
injects a huge amount of poison which is enough to kill a horse and the time
taken to kill a human being may be as short as 15 minutes to one hour.
Krait bites kills person slowly but surely as the bite is usually
less painful compared to vipers and cobras. Krait snake (Chiti) bites without
provocations where as cobra gives warning before a bite.
The only treatment to neutralize the poison is by injecting
anti snake venom which is in short supply due to various reasons. Majority of
snake bites victims die due to respiratory failure and some due to internal
bleeding and shock. The treatment is highly specialized and majority of doctors
are not trained in snake bite and respiratory care. Most of our victims of
snake bite first go to government run Primary health centers where limited or
no stock of ASV is available plus there is no electricity/inverters to run a
ventilator!! The doctor in peripheral villages and head quarter hospitals must
be given a short course of training on how to put a tube in trachea and connect
it to an Ambu bag or ventilators, before shifting him or her to a higher
center. Many might not be aware that our Ex.PM’s elder sister died due to snake
bite in UP. Yes, he is no other than a gentleman called ABBajpai.
From many years of experience in a tribal belt of Odisha,
many doctors will agree with me that many lives can be saved by public awareness,
preventive measures and timely shifting the victim to proper place. Probably
some celebrity may earn crores by projecting these deaths of innocent victims
as doctor’s negligence or Government callous attitude or something else, before
that our public must try to do something, because healthy people die every year
due to snake bites. Our MLAs are so coward that they did not attend assembly
for days together just because someone told them that-- he had spotted a snake,
where as our villagers spend their life amongst snakes, rapist, thieves and
ruffians. Hope Orissa Post carries this message to the people and the
administrators so that many valuable lives can be saved by timely interventions
in future.
