TRANSISTOR COMMENTARY:

In order to save my eyes, I switch on my ten year old Chinese transistor whenever there is a cricket match between India and any other country in India. The reason being funny- because when India bats the commentators go on giving advice about how to leave outside off stump balls and punish loose ones. When a wicket falls there will be pin drop silence from the commentary box and also from the gallery but if a four or six is being hit my transistor station gets changed due to the noise vibration. The batsman got out to a rank bad shot as if the bowlers can’t dismiss Indian batsman with good delivery. If Gavashkar is commenting he will give verbal coaching to the listeners or TV viewers, if he is in TV box. He puts forward certain arguments against the touring side just to show how patriotic he is and how they were treated in 1970’s in those countries. Commentators decide when to declare or to put up  a huge score so that the match ends in a draw and India keeps the lead 1—0.

When touring batsman gets out the ball is described as ball of the match & I have to adjust the band once again. Foreign batsman gets out to good deliveries where as our batsman due to wrong judgments. The bowlers are advised how to bowl to certain batsman as if the captain has a ear phone. If the touring batsman score the bowlers are blamed not the talent of the batsman are not recognized. At times the Hindi commentators appear to be crying after the fall of an India wicket. No commentators tell that the pitch is an under prepared one or a dead wicket. Market place looks deserted if India is marching towards victor in a day night matches. If large numbers of crackers (now they huge high decibel bombs) at night, means the game is over and India has own. If one can listen to his breath then India is losing badly. Very few true lover of this wonderful game, watch matches being played in other countries where Indian team is not involved.

I enjoy these parts of a match where Indian team is involved not on the result after all it’s a game not war.

WRONG MESSAGE

WRONG MESSAGE:

I was aghast to read “successful 2^nd & 3rd marriages of celebrities” as the main news topic in certain news papers  & their web sites.

Articles have started appearing in different newspapers and blog sites about successful second or third wife of celebrities. The recent being the hyped marriage of  a film star who is not only a womanizer but also a trouble shooter be it in hotels or forest or roads. Similarly some of our MPs too have two to three wives.

High lighting these wrong aspects of social married life sends a wrong signal to our young generation. A time will come when these young people will change their wives like mobile phone sets. Where is the end? Does multiple marriages as highlighted in the glossy magazines and press about these film stars and sports people’s leads to better life?

Homosexuality is highlighted like a big achievement so also these marriages. Some of our sitting MPs in LS and RS are married twice or thrice and they are our young generation’s idols  & light house. Really bad. If these press people have nothing to write then why they are wasting the news print given by government at a subsidized rate?

Let’s stop this nuisance of high lighting these bad things of celebrities, as achievements and give a wrong signal for our next generation.

GLYCERIN TEARS:(a satire)
A huge demand for White Kurta and Pyjama of different brands and sizes have cropped up at Mumbai ,Delhi& other big cities of India. The price too has been doubled. The reason being many of our film stars and politicians have grown old and are hospitalized for different medical conditions. So our heroes & super heroes with a gloomy face, glycerin tears, put on their new out fits during their visits to different hospitals. After few days another set is used for paying the last visit for the beloved leaders or old film stars. The third set is used for the cremation procession. You know they never wear it second time so they donate it to tsunami or earthquake victims.
Take for example our megalomaniac stars along with their bahu, "buddha pua"(aging son) pay visits for media and also for their own advertisements as most of them are without any job or not liked by people except showing off the "Girl of India” to the fanatic camera clicking photographers. These megastars at times become superspecialist give a health bulletine on the heath condition of the admitted VIPs.Emulating these stars our young generation too have started wearing white dress while attending similar functions of friends and relatives. The aging population in India is third highest in the World, hence business of hospitals, dentists, orthopedic surgeons, cardiologists, urologist and many such logist are flourishing very rapidly so also these white dress and fire woods demands.

There are many aging& diseased film stars and politicians or film related personalities hence more such white dress has been kept as a huge stock at Delhi and Mumbai in case****.

GHOST OF NEW MOON

Ghost of New Moon:

                                             

That was the first posting of Dr. Binoy after his post graduation in Medicine at Karanjia.    He had left behind his family at Baripada. Majority of his patients were local tribal people who come to hospital only when someone was serious or their old tradition methods failed.

                              That was the month of May when the first monsoon rain had hit that part of the Odisha. There was a knock at his door in the early hours of a morning. Doc came out of the mosquito net to find out who has disturbed his sleep. When he noticed the hospital ward boy, he could know that he had to go to hospital. The ward boy Dhanu told him that “one serious young patient has been brought in a cot by a dozen of people from a nearby village called Tatoo.”

 A healthy robust young boy was rolling with abdominal pain and was semiconscious. When Doctor asked about the history, patient’s brother told him that “there was a function in their village and the boy has taken some local alcohol and mutton at night and slept on the floor but suddenly got up around midnight and complaint of pain abdomen and vomiting. Thinking that the problem was due to alcohol all of them again went back to sleep but the boy made their life horrible, as a result they called the local black magician who told that it is due to a ‘ bad spirit’ which has entered his body, only killing of  a goat or a roster can satisfy the bad spirit. When everything failed they brought the young boy to the hospital.”

Dr. Binoy could diagnose immediately that it’s a snake bite case and proceeded in the best possible manner to save the victim with limited resources. The villagers who had accompanied the patient said “Due to the black magic every year during this new moon time of the year a person or two are killed by this ghost.”

 The anti snake venom(ASV) which was lying in the store room unused for years was used along with other emergency drugs as a desperate manner without further delay even though there was no history of snake bite.

Doc told the brother of the patient about the possibility of snake bite to which they said doctor “are you mad, this is nothing but black magic.” The attendants were told to search for the snake where the patient was sleeping.

Doctor had a close watch on the blood pressure and respiration of the young patient. He looked at the watch it was 5:30 am.

 After his return from quarter in few minutes he observed a big crowd, was sure the boy must have expired. The father of the patient fell flat on doc’s feet and said “Doc you are our God, what you said was right” and opened a gunny bag and lo behold there was a live banded krait. The young boy survived and Dr.Binoy became famous overnight, as a result of this incident his transfer was delayed.

On the day our doctor left Karanjia, that young boy whose name he remembers even today- “Ignesh Majhi”was waiting for him with his two children and wife to say good bye. Ignesh was his most memorable patient in his long medical career.

JERKY REACTION

My reactions is neither in favour nor against the death of the unfortunate lady.Comments in Indian press by public, different news papers on Indian Dentist death at Ireland.

Every one commenting in news papers, appears to be a SC judge and Super specialist.Easy to comment but we do not know the full story.There are many questions to be answered before one can take a conclusion.Like why the dentist wanted an abortion when her  husband was out.Septicemia was due to her self induced abortion or not, we do not know.Postmortem can throw some light and the law of that land will apply if there was any negligence.We are very much concern about our "patriotic" indians being raped, murdered or humiliated in foreign land where as daily thousands die due to criminal abortion by non medical men or woman or quacks in Indian villages and cities, so much our concern for Indian woman!!
Because the head line says 'Indian woman' we should not react  emotionally and comment in an erratic manner.

In India 6.7 million abortions are done every year out of which one million are performed  legally.Why we bring religion and politics in to this unfortunate death?We have our own laws for different religion so why we should criticize some other country's existing laws as regards abortion?Because we have legalised abortion so we want other countries to follow us left right and center?

No one dare marginalise the life concerns of the mass of our women as systematically as large sections of our media do, with their disproportionate attention to glamour dolls, film stars and the doings of the fashionable elite. 

I know many people will send abusive mails but that's it.
