The Health Benefits of Eating Onions:
Now days it has become a fashion (in Odisha) to order food without onion or garlic? Strange, it’s depriving you of many benefits, who knows you may die early and your wife/girl friend will be benefitted? Start eating one raw onion per day with your lunch not dinner and feel the effect! Why? This is medically proven benefits for centuries. It has nothing to do with religion? Atleast the foul smell of mouth is replaced with onion or garlic smell? Read on—do not be in a hurry to click –like?
1. Reduced risk of gastric cancer, when eating in large quantities;
2. Reduced risk of blood clots. Note that if the onions are steam-cooked, this benefit is reduced;
  3. Improved sleep and mood;
4. Healthier skin and hair.
5. Red onions in particular contain high amounts of Quercetin, which boosts immunity and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Onions are more beneficial when eaten raw. However, cooked onions still retain sufficient nutrients to be beneficial to health.
Some more benefits of onions are:
·         Act as an antibiotic, particularly for infections in the mouth. And have antiseptic properties.
·         High amounts of the falconoid Quercetin (especially in the red variety) make onions beneficial for relieving allergy and asthma symptoms, controlling hypertension, and rheumatoid arthritis.
·         Essential onion oil may benefit diabetics by lowering the level of glucose in the blood.
