Whole of my life I was a victim of SMS(‘Short man
syndrome’5’7’’).Also known as‘Napoleon complex’ .This is a condition in which a
person has to deal with a feeling of inadequacy which can come from a lack of
height – or a perceived lack of height. This is particularly common in men who
gain a lot of confidence and status from physicality and who often gain pleasure
from being able to feel physically imposing.Those days no one told us in the
class that one should be lucky to be short but not very short.The height does
not matter to become famous that’s the message which should be told to students
who are little short in height.In certain fields like sports and athletics tall people have certain advantages but they face lots of problem while
travelling in trains, air and bus.Joint and bone fractures are frequent with
tall people.Because of their height most of them are proud in nature and do not
mix freely with short people.In the case of short man syndrome it may be that
in the wild smaller individuals needed to make more noise and act more
aggressively in order to compete for food and mates. Indeed studies have
demonstrated that in the wild, smaller creatures often do attack first.Smaller
dogs bark more as a self protection.
